Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion Theory -- Fundamental Geometry? - vsepr clo3-

According to VSEPR theory, that the obligations imposed by the type and pairs of electrons on the central atom of these molecules or molecular ions?

SF2 molecule (the central atom p.)

H3O + (the central atom above)

ClO3 ions (the central atom cl)

which are linear? octahedral? Tetrahedron? trigonal bipyramidal, trigonal planar?

1 comment:

  1. SF2 is a long molecule, or V-shaped (because the connection couples face more than bonded pairs)

H3O + ion is tetrahedral (a 4-atoms, but flat, because there is no pair bonding)

    ClO3 is pyramidal
